Heswall Osteopathy was established in 1988 by Melanie Jane Wright DO,MRO Registered Osteopath
after qualifying at the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in London after
completing a four year full time course.
Initially she worked from home as a sole
practitioner on Barnston Road and then in 1994 set up Heswall Osteopathy and
Holistic Centre on Milner Road. 21 years at this address working with a host of
other therapists including Osteopaths (NHS and private work), physiotherapists,
reflexology, acupuncture, massage
In December 2019 Melanie moved to a purpose built treatment room at her family home
Melanie qualified as an Animal Veterinary
Osteopath in 2003 after a post graduate course and then did a Masters degree in
Public Health Nutrition. Her thesis was relating to bone health in women and
their vitamin D3 status with regard to its impact on Osteoporosis. This enables
her to give an overview of an individuals nutritional status and advice on how
to make simple but effective changes to diet and lifestyle.She also has a
post-graduate teaching certificate -PGCertACE
Melanie(and husband James) has one daughter, four dogs
and enjoys walking, skiing and gardening.
The spring and summer months are extra busy as
she is involved with wildlife rescue meaning that there is an ever changing
range of temporary inhabitants including 'disturbed nest mother hedgehogs and
their babies', ducklings, goslings, baby birds!!
During the Covid 19 Pandemic Melanie worked long hours with the National Test and Trace process-initially Tier 2 Team leader , PHE Tier 1 Cumbria, then as a Principal Scientist for UKHSA. Currently on UKHSA Reserve
